The Vilnius University in Lithuania is one of the oldest and most famous establishments of higher education in Eastern and Central Europe, founded in 1579 already.
In order to keep not only the university but her students moving forward, Associate Professor, PhD, Erika Vaiginienė wanted to teach foresight working methodologies as part of her strategic management classes.
Erika knew that for such foresight studies to be down-to-earth and practical, two things were crucial.
First, a real and important topic was chosen to work on: possible future scenarios for the publishing industry in Lithuania.
Second, FIBRES was introduced for this work so that her students would have a modern and purpose-built tool to work with as they might have in the corporate world later, too.
Teaching foresight as part of any strategy class is something that Erika regards necessary. Foresight and futures work are tools for enabling leadership, which motivate imaginative society (Society 5.0) to tackle changes and challenges. She believes everyone entering leadership positions should be equipped with the related know-how.
"FIBRES as a purpose-built software fitted my foresight teaching purposes quite well indeed. Thanks to the FIBRES platform, students experienced foresight co-creation process while being in the distance from each other", says Erika.
"It is an honour to bring FIBRES to strategic management studies at Vilnius University", says Panu Kause, CEO at FIBRES Online.
Panu continues: "FIBRES Online is on a mission to help corporations and consultancies really own their futures with continuous and collaborative foresight work. To honour this continued mission, it is our privilege to offer FIBRES for related educational purposes at very special terms: free of charge."
