The Vilnius University in Lithuania is one of the oldest and most famous establishments of higher education in Eastern and Central Europe, founded in 1579 already.
Goal
In order to keep not only the university but her students moving forward, Associate Professor, PhD, Erika Vaiginienė wanted to teach foresight working methodologies as part of her strategic management classes.
Solution
Erika knew that for such foresight studies to be down-to-earth and practical, two things were crucial.
First, a real and important topic was chosen to work on: possible future scenarios for the publishing industry in Lithuania.
Second, FIBRES was introduced for this work so that her students would have a modern and purpose-built tool to work with as they might have in the corporate world later, too.
Results
Teaching foresight as part of any strategy class is something that Erika regards necessary. Foresight and futures work are tools for enabling leadership, which motivate imaginative society (Society 5.0) to tackle changes and challenges.
